"Celtic Rose (18x24) mixed media painting on canvas with wired hanger on back.
This mixed media abstract expressive painting was created during an art retreat. "Celtic Rose" was also inspired by my love of hats and gardens. Her BeUtiFUL hair and rose colored cheeks along with my family's McIntyre heritage from Scotland inspired her Celtic name. The colorful abstracted dress she wears was created using an art technique called flow art. I usually enter into a relationship when painting portraits as they often speak to me. Many people ask what the paintings tell me? My response is it's really fascinating to slow down and listen intuitively hearing suggestions such as... "use more contrast" or "add more details", etc. which always makes my portraits come alive and become more interesting.
